Mike Fonderhide awarded 2020 Men’s Senior Golf League Champion (Local News ~ 10/02/20)
Forty men competed in this year’s Senior Golf League with Mike Fonderhide emerging as the title holder. Each member competed in matches against other members throughout the summer. Members began play in the spring by establishing their golf handicap. A member’s handicap is recalculated each week based on the score of their match. GC planning committee and Purdue Extension launch new leadership program

Miners beat rival, lose to THS (High School Sports ~ 10/02/20)
Linton-Stockton swept rival Sullivan Tuesday night but fell at Terre Haute South Wednesday. The win against Sullivan (25-11, 25-23, 25-19) extended the Miner win-streak to 11 games. Terre Haute South, coached by Linton alumna Libbi Fougerousse, ended the streak with a 25-13, 25-20, 25-22 win over the Miners. Linton then swept Shakamak last night. Defending sectional champion Bloomfield was bested by host North Daviess Wednesday night 4-1. It is the second loss of the year for the Cardinals against the Cougars in addition to North Daviess winning the SWIAC tournament over Bloomfield this past Saturday. Out of all the aspects in the sport of volleyball the one people shy away from is the dreaded dig. Absorbing the contact and force of a spiked volleyball in your arms is not exactly enjoyable, but senior Emma Booher at Shakamak has made a legacy out of it. Booher broke the school record for digs with 52 on Sept. 17 against South Vermillion.
