Vera June Goodson, age 88, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. She was born in Linton, on June 19, 1932, the daughter of Chas Edward & Iona Florence (Eaton) Combs. She worked as a nursing assistant at Greene County General Hospital for several years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Linton and enjoyed shopping, spending time with her family as well as with her church family...

Bloomfield junior Gracie Lowry has a new volleyball jersey only 31 other athletes in the state earned this past season. Lowry received her Junior All-Star jersey this week to go along with other accolades she earned this year. Lowry was named to the All-State team on Class A level and made All-District and All-SWIAC as well and led the Cardinals in kills with 331 with a .333 attack percentage. ...

The Linton-Stockton Board of School Trustees met in regular session on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. Following the approval of personnel recommendations, Superintendent Kathy Goad presented the board with a request to change the school’s drug testing vendor. The school corporation currently administers the drug tests to students and bus drivers. ...
