Lady Miners control second spot in SWIAC

After a 11-1 loss to Clay City Tuesday, Linton softball found its footing again as it rattled off wins over WRV Thursday and North Daviess Friday. As a result, Linton is now 9-2 and 4-1 in SWIAC to stay in second place of the conference standings. Thursday, Linton scored 14 runs in the first inning alone as the Miners defeated the Wolverines 17-2. Gabe Eslinger goes for the cycle in Miner win

Linton senior Gabe Eslinger had the extremely rare achievement of hitting the cycle in Linton’s 24-0 win over Orleans Saturday. The senior hit a single, double, triple and home run against the host Bulldogs. Two other Miners hit homers in the win including junior Nathan Frady and senior Bracey Breneman.
