NNO held for twelfth year at Linton’s Humphreys Park

Held at Humphreys Park in Linton since 2010, National Night Out (NNO) has grown into one of the most popular events of the year, as evidenced by the large crowd gathered Tuesday at Linton’s Humphreys Park. Brought to Linton by former Chief of Police Troy Jerrell, who presided over the event for close to 10 years, NNO draws hundreds of officers from police departments in Linton, Jasonville, Worthington, Lyons, Bloomfield and other area agencies as well as the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the Indiana State Police, NJROTC cadets, Greene County fire departments, EMTs, the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, military personnel and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, among others.. ...

A popular fixture at the annual National Night Out event held at Humphreys Park in Linton the first Tuesday in August, the dogs-in-training employed by the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF) are working dogs at various stages of training, but they all have one thing in common: they have all been rescued from Humane Societies and shelters and given a new lease on life by the correctional facility...
