Linton man arrested on preliminary felony charges

Alec N. McKee, 22, Linton, was arrested on charges of Level 5 felony criminal recklessness and level 5 felony battery, as well as Class B misdemeanor false informing. According to a press release from the Linton Police Department (LPD), on May 23, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Linton Police Department began an investigation after three juveniles reported they had been shot at while driving on 12th Street SE. ...

Bloomfield Pantry grateful for USPS food drive

Some weeks ago the Bloomfield Post Office sponsored a postal food drive to be given to the Bloomfield First Baptist Church Community Food Pantry. Thanks to the generosity of the Bloomfield townspeople and rural area people and the willingness of the postal men and women who unselfishly gathered the food and carried it back to the post office, a huge "THANK YOU" is extended. Autumn Trace hosts ‘Mayberry’ party

On Friday, May 12, residents of Autumn Trace Assisted Living of Linton traveled back to the 60s with a “Mayberry” party. Mayberry is the name of the town set in the hit TV series, “The Andy Griffith Show”. “We had a special visitor all the way from Mayberry,” said Autumn Trace Executive Director Jathan Wright. “Otis visited our Mayberry party as we enjoyed county fair pies, Aunt Bee’s pickles and moonshine punch.
