Thanks for help at state baseball finals

To the Editor:

This letter is to thank all the wonderful people of Jasonville who assisted my family and me while at the Class A state championship game at Victory Field.

I had to be taken to Methodist Hospital for a short time and there were many people who were instrumental in getting the help I needed. Thanks especially to Matt Hill, Kindra Boston and David Neal for helping my husband initially.

I know that I cannot name all by name, but so many people offered to help in any way they could. Many of you offered to help my daughters, Jillian and Cassidy, who had to stay at the stadium. Your kindness and caring means more to me than you will ever know.

I was able to return to the game, and I cannot count the number of people who expressed their concern for me. I received numerous hugs and words of encouragement, for while I am so grateful. Mere words cannot express my gratitude.

One thing that sticks with me is what the paramedic said to me in the ambulance when I was able to carry on a conversation with him. He said, "I can tell you are from a small town because when we were taking you to the ambulance, everyone was asking your husband what they could do."

Upon my return to the game, I found out that two prayer chains were started immediately and that a few of the families who were waiting in line with me joined hands to pray. We received several phone calls on the way home, and even throughout the weekend, from caring people wanting to see how I was doing.

I would like to say that that I am so blessed to live in a community where people truly care about each other. I am deeply grateful for all the thoughts, prayers, kind words and actions of all the great people from Jasonville.
