Ruth A. Wilcox

Ruth A. Wilcox, 81, of Solsberry, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Feb. 21, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital.

Born May 14, 1925 in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of Hote L. and Jessie Myrtle (Timmons) Haywood.

She was retired from Civil Service at Crane, and she was also self-employed. She was a member of the Solsberry Christian Church and the Red Hat Society.

Surviving relatives include three children: Myrta L. Hudson (Gary) of Solsberry; Sue Burks (Jerry) of Solsberry; and Steve A. Wilcox of Chicago; five grandchildren, Jackie Vest (Shawn) of Solsberry; Chris Hudson (Erica) of Solsberry; Chad Harding of Solsberry; Tim Burks of Bloomfield; Thom Burks (Tracey) of Bloomfield; six great-grandchildren Heath Ison, Garrett Vest, Kaitlynn Hudson, Emmy Hudson, Kathy Sue Burks, Brady Burks; and one sister-in-law Virginia Haywood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands Andy Wilcox and Vearl "Toodie" Summerville; and one brother, Leslie Lee Haywood.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Byron Williams and the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today, and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Friday.
