WRV-Worthington wins
White River Valley-Worthington defeated Bloomfield 47-26 in an opening-round game at the Dugger sixth grade boys basketball tournament Wednesday night.
Dess Fougerousse had 20 points, 14 rebounds, four steals, two assists and two blocks for the winners.
Logan Krueger had 13 pons while Luke Mowery contributed eight rebounds and six points.
Brody Harmon collected four steals and five points while Andy Reel added three boards and two points.
Alex Reel had one points and Cade Hill dished out six assists for WRV-Worthington (8-1).
White River Valley's fifth graders also defeated Bloomfield 39-18 at the Dugger Tournament.
Trey Gamble (15) and Austin Frye (10 ) combined for 25 points. Frye also had four steals and Gamble grabbed three rebounds.
Trent Myers had six teals, six points and two rebounds while Trent Carpenter finished with six points, four rebounds and one steal.
Bobby Harmon was credited with two points, two rebounds and one steal while Conner Hill finished with two rebounds and two steals. Wyatt Inman had one rebound for WRV-Worthington (6-3).
WRV girls undefeated
The White River Valley-Worthington sixth grade girls basketball team defeated Shelburn 46-3 on the road Tuesday and visiting Carlisle 53-12 Wednesday to run its record to 10-0.
Sydney Kail had 15 points and four rebounds against Shelburn. Kylee Karr collected 13 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Maddy Dyer tallied eight points, five rebounds and four assists.
Megan Rose and Jordan McHenry each scored four points. Rose added two boards and one assist while McHenry had one rebound.
Amanda Hash added two points.
Dyer (17, 6), Karr (12, 8) and Kail (10, 3) teamed up for 39 points and 17 rebounds in the win over Carlisle.
Rose, Kim Wheelock and McHenry each scored four points. Hash finished with seven rebounds, two points and two assists and Courtney Collins grabbed two rebounds.
WRV-Worthington's fifth grade girls squad improved to 3-6 with wins over Shelburn (26-21) and Carlisle (26-23).
Madison Hockman had 16 points against Shelburn. McHenry had 15 rebounds and eight points.
Miranda Pierce had five rebounds and two points while Brook Eyerman (three), Jasmine Padgett (one) and Samantha Dickinson (one) combined for five rebounds.
Hockman led with 14 points against Carlisle. She also had three rebounds and one assist.
McHenry had four points, four rebounds and one assist and Eyerman scored four points.
Pierce had four rebounds and two points and Olivia Riplett and Dickinson both were credited with three rebounds.
