Game announcements
The Union at Medora boys basketball contest will start with JV competition at 6 p.m. Friday, 30 minutes earlier than previously announced, according to Union boys athletic director Doug Boyd.
Also, the Eminence at Shakamak boys basketball game will begin at 6 p.m. tonight. The JV contest will feature only two quarters, meaning the varsity game will tip-off approximately between 6:45 and 7 p.m.
The Linton-Stockton season finale against Riverton Parke Friday night will tip off at 6:30 p.m.
Softball tryouts Sunday
The Greene/Sullivan County 12-and-under Clover Fastpitch Softball Traveling team will be holding tryouts to fill the remainder of their team for this spring and summer.
The tryouts are scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at White River Valley High School gym.
The Clovers had a very successful first year, last year as a 10-and-under team This year there will be a 10U, 12U, and 14U Clover team and the tryouts for the 10U and 14U teams will be posted at a later date.

Meeting rescheduled
With all the bad weather coming in we have decided to postpone Thursday's Bloomfield Youth Football meeting. The Bloomfield Youth Football league will have a rescheduled meeting on Feb 22. It will be at the Bloomfield Fire station at 6:30. We will be holding elections for the 2007 officers.
Youth sign-ups start Saturday
Youth baseball and softball sign-ups in Worthington and Lyons will take place several times in the next couple of weeks.
The leagues are for boys ages 5-13 and girls ages 5-17. Parents should bring a copy of your child's birth certificate. Cost is $35 for one child, $55 for two children and $70 for three or more children.
Sign-ups in Worthington will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Worthington Community Building at the park and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3 at the Hinchman Building at the park.
Sign-ups in Lyons are set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lyons Community Building as well as from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, also at the Lyons Community Building.
This will be the first year that boys from Lyons and Worthington will play together on Minor and Major League teams. Practices will rotate locations.
Youth league sign-ups start Sunday in Dugger
The Dugger Youth League will have three different times for baseball and softball sign-ups.
Boys ages 4-15 and girls ages 6-16 can participate. Cost is $35 for one child and $50 for family. Sign-ups will begin from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25.
They will continue from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1 and from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 4. All sign-ups will be at the Dugger Town Hall. Parents of new players are asked to bring birth certificates.

Bloomfield Youth Baseball sign-ups
The Bloomfield Youth Baseball league -- formerly Bloomfield Little League -- will be conducting sign-ups beginning on Tuesday, February 20 from 5-7 p.m. and again on Saturday, February 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at the community room of the Bloomfield Public Library.
Fees for this year will be $35 per child, $55 for two children, and $70 for three or more children (from same household). Players may also register at the tryout date for their age group. Tryouts will be on March 3 for 9-10 and 11-12 age groups at the Bloomfield Junior High gym beginning at 8 a.m. Tryouts for ages 7-8 will be on March 10, also at the junior high gym beginning at 8 a.m. An additional $10 fee will be charged for all sign-ups after these tryout dates. Ages groups 4-6 may also register by the March 10 deadline, but will not need to tryout.
The playing age of each child shall be determined by the player's age on May 1, 2007. Everyone wanting to play, excluding ages 4-6, will have to tryout due to league restructuring, even if you participated last year. League play will consist of some games being played at Worthington and Lyons.

The Linton Girls Softball Association will be having sign-ups at Linton Sporting Goods on Saturday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Linton Boys Baseball League will be having sign-ups at Linton Sporting Goods Saturday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Any boy that turns age 4 by May 1 and does not turn 13 by May 1 is eligible. Cost is $35 per child or $50 per family.
Also the Linton Babe Ruth League will be having sign-ups at Linton Sporting Goods on both days at the same time. Any boy that turns 13 by Aug. 1 and does not turn 16 before Aug. 1 is eligible. Cost is $40 per child or $60 per family.

Board meeting
The next Board of Directors meeting will be Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hanna Field upstairs meeting room. The public is invited to attend.

The Bloomfield summer softball and boys Little League baseball will hold registration sign-ups on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 9 a.m. until noon at the Bloomfield Public Library Community Room.
Shakamak sign-up dates
The Shakamak Hanna Boys' and Girls' Youth League's next player registration sign-up date will be Saturday, February 24, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Hanna Field in the upstairs meeting room. Boys and girls ages 3-12 are $30 for the first child, $25 for the second and $25 for the third child in the same family. Any child thereafter is free. There is a Fish Fry fund raiser in which each child will sell four tickets, there is a $20 per child buy-out option if the parents would rather opt out of the fund raiser. The Fish Fry tickets are printed and ready to be passed out at any of the Saturday sign-ups. Girls ages 13-18 cost $50 for the first child and $45 per child thereafter with NO fund raiser. Any questions about signing your child up for baseball or softball should be directed to our Player Agent, B.A. Shipman at (812) 208-1363.
Cal Ripken sign ups
The Shakamak Cal Ripken Baseball League, Inc. will offer five more registration dates for the upcoming 2007 baseball season. Those dates will be as follows: Saturday, Feb. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All registration sign ups will be conducted at the Jasonville City Park inside the concession stand.
