Hattie M. Jewell

Hattie M. Jewell, 88, of Indianapolis, formerly of Worthington, passed away at Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Meadow Lake Retirement Center in Mooresville.

She was born, Aug. 30, 1918, in Switz City to Clyde & Inez (Hulen) Stough.

She retired from Western Electric in 1978 after 23 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Worthington.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Roy Jewell of Indianapolis; five children, Joanna (Jerry) Nelson, of Texas; Robert (Helen) Jewell, of Shreveport, La., Herbert (Faye) Jewell, of New Palestine; Sarah (Steve) Franke, of Indianapolis; Cathy (Floyd) Dunham, of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Linda Jewell, of Pendleton; one sister, Margaret "Maggie" McNabb, of Worthington; nephew, Mike Holman, of Worthington; 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ronald Jewell; one daughter, Susan K. Jewell; three brothers, Clyde Jr.; Willard & David Stough.

Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 2 p.m. on Saturday with Rev. the Don Lincicome officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.

Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
