Info on Sandhill Cranes

The sandhill crane is a large, long-legged, long-necked bird with an 80-inch wingspan. It stands more than 3 feet tall and has a long, dark, pointed bill and dark gray legs. It extends its legs and neck out straight when in flight. The sandhill crane also has a row of long, fluffy basal flight feathers called tertials that droop down over the tail and primary flight feathers.
