Lakers now 17-0 after TRC win over Eminence

Shakamak, ranked No. 8 in the latest Class A volleyball poll, pushed its record to 17-0 with a 25-12, 25-15, 25-9 Tri-River Conference victory at home against Eminence Friday night.

Casey Fougerousse was 3 of 3 serving with four digs for the winners. Kelsey Farris had five points, two aces, one assists, six kills and one dig. Jill Smith added two kills and a dig.

Alexis Shidler was perfect serving (7 of 7) and tallied five points and five digs. Chelsea Hudson finished with eight kills, three digs, four points and one ace.

Annie Strahla contributed eight points and three aces on 11-for-11 serving. She led with 19 digs. Jess Gilbert had nine kills, which paced the Lady Lakers.

Heather Gilbert had two blocks, six digs, seven kills, four points and two aces as she connected of all seven service attempts.

Marki Collins and Amanda Gilbert each had a team-best 10 points. Gilbert also had four aces, 26 assists, nine digs and a kill. Collins added one ace, three kills and five digs.

Shakamak's JV also won 25-4, 25-24 as Alison Miller had three aces, five points (6 of 6 serving), 11 assists and one kill.

Destiny Secrest had two kills and one dig and Mari Burger had one kill and one dig. Holli Moore was 2 of 2 serving with four digs and Kat Gilreath added one kill. Lacy Ashcraft made her only attempted serve.

Syd Weinzapfel had three points, two aces and a kill while Kayla Samm had one point, one ace, one kill and a dig.

Cass Holdaway led with 12 points, four aces, and one dig. Erika Enstrom had one dig, one kill, seven points and four aces on 8-for-8 serving.

Leah Keller contributed four points, one ace and two digs. Stacey Durham had two points and a dig and Kristi Pearson was 4-for-4 serving with four points, one ace and two kills.

The varsity will host the Shakamak Invitational today.
