Living next to I-69 won't be Utopia

To the Editor:

The land use, zoning meeting was good planning for Farm Bureau.

The farmers in Madison County, Ind., had many problems after I-69 was built. The No. 1 problem was surface water drainage. It took years and money, lots of money, to restore the drainage.

I leased 40 acres next to I-69. The owner had never had ponding of surface water, until I-69 was built.

The No. 2 problem was access. You can not farm ground if you can't drive to it.

The people who expect to live in Utopia after I-69 is built will be disappointed.
