Junior Civitan clubs help with Special Olympics

Thursday, February 7, 2008

Members of the Linton-Stockton High School and Junior High School Junior Civitan clubs traveled to Paoli Peaks on Jan. 29 for the annual Winter Special Olympics. The Linton Civitan Club is the largest participating club to help with the handicap. Club sponsors Becky Miller (high school) and Stefanie Ball (junior high), along with former elementary school principal and current Linton Civitan Member Harry Huber, accompanied approximately 32 students in this annual event. Students were assigned stations and given duties, cheered the special Olympians and distributed awards, and later discussed how we can bring the area groups closer, and provide a more active larger area group. High School Junior Civitan officers include (from left) Vice President Nathan Ross, Treasurer Olivia Miller, and President Bryant Sparks. (Not pictured is Secretary Jessica Yuodzukinas).
