American Red Cross thankful for recent support

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

To the Editor:

The American Red Cross, Wabash Valley Chapter, Greene County Unit would like to thank everyone for their assistance during the aftermath of the Feb. 5 tornado in Bloomfield.

Special thanks to the Bloomfield Dairy Queen for the breakfast sandwiches and to the Pepperoni Grill for the spaghetti dinners. Thanks to their generosity we were able to distribute hot meals and hot drinks to the workers as they cleaned up after the storm.

To all of the Red Cross volunteers and members of the community who assisted us, thank you! Without your help we couldn't accomplish what we do.

The Red Cross is able to provide essential emergency assistance through donations to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund. Our response is made possible by your financial support and the local volunteers who give freely of their time. As the Red Cross continues to work with local families to help address their local disaster caused emergency needs, we ask you to join the Red Cross in our campaign to raise money to assist us in these efforts.

All Red Cross disaster relief is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. Your support of the Disaster Relief Fund will enable us to continue providing the unique and vital Red Cross services upon which Americans have come to depend in times of crisis.

Your contribution helps guarantee that the Red Cross will be there, providing comfort and relief to those affected by disasters, like the tornado and floods in Greene County.

Gifts can be sent to American Red Cross Wabash Valley Chapter P.O. Box 204 Switz City, Ind., 47465.
