What is your favorite Christmas memory?

"My happiest Christmas memory is last year when it was Kendra's first Christmas."

-- Amy Slater and Kendra Boyd

"I have had many wonderful Christmases, especially when my children were young. There is too much emphasis on material things. Christmas is about family. I have five children, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and we all get together. I bake a lot of cookies and cakes."

-- Betty Swayze

"My favorite Christmas memory is when I was about 5 or 6 years old. On Christmas Eve, I heard the floor squeaking, and I was sure it was Santa. I was going to peak but went right back to bed afraid he would see me."

-- Mary Ison

Marcie - "My mom used to wrap each child's present in different paper and then stack them in a pyramid. That's my favorite memory."

Scott - "My favorite Christmas memory was when I visited my grandparents in Florida. My brother and I slept outside under the Christmas tree and didn't have to wait until my mother or grandparents said we could open our gifts. We opened them as soon as we woke up."

-- Marcie, Scott and Jaylen Dierdorf

"My favorite Christmas was in 2004, the Christmas before my father died. He passed away the next year on Dec. 18. Christmas hasn't been the same since then."

-- Andrea Meurer and Ronnie

"My favorite Christmas memories are of me and my sister going with my grandma and picking out the tree and decorating it."

-- Kim Parker

"My first Christmas with my new family. That was five years ago, and it gets better every year."

-- Steve Keown

I miss the old lights the city used to put up :(

They made me feel all "hometown" and mushy.

Well, that and the huge Santa butt crack that we used to have in town. Anyone else remember that?

  • My favorite memories of Christmas was Christmas' before my parents divorced when I was 10 then it was a busy Christmas day of opening presents at home then at my Mamk's and Grampy Tom's then going for the evening to my Mamaw's and Papaw's in Freedom which I done up until 2 years ago when there is no Mamaw or Papaw. So now it's just my house with only 1 child unless my sons come home from Iraq and Tx, then to Mamk's. But I remember the reason for the season is Jesus and that helps me out and I plan on helping a family with difficulty with Christmas as people used to help us when we had a bunch of kids at home.
