Walter E. Barry

Walter E. Barry, 92, of Linton, went to be with the Lord on Monday May 25, 2009 at his residence.

He was born in Blythesville, Ark., July 28, 1916 to the Rev. R. L. Barry and Lula Osborne Barry.

He was a member of the First Church of God in Linton, and a self-employed auto mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Geraldine Best Barry in 1974, also two sons Mark Barry and Bobby Lee Barry, one brother, Paul Barry and one sister, Marie Miller.

Survivors include his wife Shirley Witters Barry, two sons Walter Lee Barry of Ferris, Texas, Terry Wayne Barry of Fort Worth Texas, three step sons, Larry Thomason of New Jersey, Ronal Thomason and Kenneth Thomason both of Illinois, one daughter, Freida Hopkins of Tucson, Ariz., one brother, Ray Barry of Paris, Ill., two sisters, Helen Williams of Anderson, Betty Hembree of Carlisle, five grandchildren and a great grandchild.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the First Church of God in Linton with the Rev. John Catchem officiating. There will be no visitation.
