Please return my son's boot; no questions asked

To the Editor:

This time of the year is so nice, when you walk down the street and see all the nice looking plants in people's yard. I too have a nice looking flower garden around my house.

I also have a memorial type rock with a poem that says "If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again."

I have that in my garden because I lost my son in 2005. Along with the memorial rock, I place his work boot filled with hen and chickens. It was so full this year. It has been in my garden since he passed. But now there is an empty place in my flower garden, you see someone stole this from me.

I know it's hard to believe, and maybe someone really liked my son's boot, or maybe they really liked the hen and chickens. I would be more than happy to give you the hen and chickens if you would return the boot. The boot is the only thing I have left of my son.

There will be no questions asked.

Linton couple says thanks for celebration

To the Editor:

Dear friends and family,

We would like to thank everyone for all the anniversary cards we received for our 60th wedding anniversary. They really made our day special.

We would especially like to thank all our brothers and sisters in Christ from the Ellis Church of Christ. Also, my high school friends from the class of 1947 at Linton-Stockton High School. They brought back such pleasant memories.

Most of all, we thank God for giving us great health to celebrate all these wonderful years together and our five fabulous daughters who made this possible.

Thank you for each and every card, we treasure them.

In Christian love,

Thornton and Olga Thomas
