Thanks for suppporting Mayor's Ride
To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to all those that helped make the first annual "Jasonville Mayor's Ride" a success. God provided us with perfect weather, there were no problems, and the ride was enjoyed by all.
Approximately 85 individuals went on the journey through southern Indiana as we passed through Coalmont, Lewis, Blackhawk, Riley, Bowling Green, Spencer, Freedom, Worthington, Switz City, Linton, Midland and finally arriving back at Jasonville City Park.
Upon their return the riders were greeted by members of the park board, city council, and several volunteers who were there to help prepare the meal. The entertainment was provided by three local bands (Altared, Blame Jesus, Wicker Elephant ) and soloist Lora Chesterfield.
Two-thousand dollars was raised to help pay for the playground and skateboard park equipment.
A special "thanks" to the following for their donation or service:
Cathy May, Darren Sluder, Shannon Gibson for organizing the event and Ross Deschamp for designing the route.
