Deckard benefit

was a huge success

To the Editor:

On Oct. 10 a benefit event was held for Wanda Deckard at the Eastern Greene Fire Department. Many people came out to wish Wanda and her husband, Larry, well.

The organizers were surprised with the great number who turned out for this event. We would like to thank the following: All the special people who provided great desserts for the dinner and the bake sale. All the people who donated items for the silent auction and raffles. All the area merchants who made very generous donations for the silent auction and raffles. Monroe Hospital for donating the transportation to make it possible for Wanda to attend the event. Affordable Dentures for their donation of dental work. Eastern Greene Fire Department for the use of their building and for the volunteers who helped. Marilyn Curry and Weblos Troop 173 for helping in set-up and clean-up. Greene County Sheriff Terry Pierce for arranging the wonderful entertainment. All the area churches who made donations of food, time, and money. Herald Times and Greene County Daily World for the publicity. Anyone who donated in any way to make this benefit event a huge success.

Without the entire community coming together the way it did this event could not have happened. Wanda's address is: Wanda Deckard Garden Villa Room 208 1100 S. Curry Pike Bloomington, Ind., 47403.

Thanks to all for making this a huge success.
