What is happening with our government?

To the Editor:

The coffee corner at McDonald's is mostly silent these days. With Bush out of a job, the sheeple have nothing to say. We used to have a fun time bashing Bush, from month's before his election, until his successor started making his moves. The bashers are missing a good opportunity with this guy, but to do so, they would be repudiating their vote.

Are you aware of what is going on in this administration of change? He ran on a platform of change. People wanted change, however, Obama's idea of change is, change the form of government. The people want a change in policy.

The people do not want socialism, we do not want communism, and we do not want fascism! We Americans want our own "Americanism!" We do not need incompetent politicians, trying to micro manage our lives.

We brought this all on ourselves. We did not vote issues. We voted straight party tickets, like we did all our lives. If we haven't learned from this experience then we are doomed to vote straight party tickets again. In that case, our doom is sealed.

It's strange that people fear the idea and policies of the other parties, without knowing what these policies are. These people avoid Fox News, like they avoid an epidemic. They might hear something that would enlighten them. It's sad, but many voters will let someone else think for them. I've tried thinking. Believe me, it doesn't hurt. I know a man who thinks a whole lot more than I do. He doesn't have headaches. Try thinking. It's informative, surprising and sometimes exciting.

I stopped in for breakfast at the new Heritage Cafe. A friend of mine took his wife there for dinner. He recommended it. I was quite satisfied with my breakfast. That takes some doing. My wife says I'm a grumpy old man, that can't be satisfied. So, I say, welcome to downtown Linton and I hope you prosper.

I'm also looking forward for the reemergence of the "Grill On The Hill" at the Triple H Gun Club. We've really missed spending time there.

We had dinner at The Old Bank on Friday evening. The "Rack of Ribs" were very well prepared and tasty. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. The serving ladies were also a plus. Thanks Jerry and Gayle.

Thanks for listening.

GCGH therapy department is great

To the Editor:

This is to commend Greene County General Hospital for its exceptional therapy department.

On June 3 I had surgery at Terre Haute for a torn rotator cup, torn ligaments and torn muscles. After two weeks of home therapy, I had 3 1/2 months of occupational therapy at Greene County General Hospital, three times a week. The therapy group was all wonderful, friendly and caring. I watched them with other patients and everyone was treated with kindness and encouragement.

Tim Johnson was my therapist. Tim, what can I say? You are a kind, caring, young man. When I would get discouraged, you would talk me through it. I can use my arm more every day as you kept telling me I would.

Thanks Tim and Greene County General Hospital.
