To the Editor:

I believe Sen. Bayh's decision to not run for re-election is an indictment of our Congress and our system; how badly deteriorated our system has become; how corrupt it now is; how riddled with self-serving, egocentric, power grabbing, and disgraceful elected officials our system has become.

I further believe there are many well-meaning members of Congress (like Sen. Bayh) who are unable to get anything done because of how our Congress now works and are so "out powered" that their attempt to serve has become perpetual frustration.

Maybe term limits would help break this log-jam of entrenched power and corruption. Maybe it is beyond fixing.

It is troubling to think our "great experiment" of personal liberty and self-government may be failing beyond repair.
