Thank you for helping Jessie during tough times

To the Editor:

"Compassion In Action"

Thank you Jessie Bowman and your staff, a friend of mine Vera Darrah who worked for you there in the Lyons nursing home, also became a resident there in her last days of life.

I visited her there a few days before she died, and she told me how kind and compassionate you had all been to her from the beginning of her illness. She told me that you had allowed here to work when she could during her chemo treatments, she praised you all for your caring and kindness to her.

She told me you had been like family to her and helped her in her fight with cancer. Thank you for showing love in action to Vera, and to her boss Jessie Bowman. Thank you for allowing her to work when she felt well enough, that meant a lot to Vera.

She could not praise you all enough. I was so blessed when I left the nursing home that day. It does one's heart good to hear these kind of stories in today's world, which is so often all about I or me. Thank you all for loving her and putting compassion into action.

I appreciate you all and God bless you all.
