Saturday, Nov. 12
* A walk-a-thon fundraiser will be at 10 a.m. at the Sandborn Community Building with sign-ups at 8:30 a.m. This is a fundraiser for senior citizens living on a fixed income. Sponsor sheets are available at First Financial Bank, Sandborn Town Hall or from any park board member,
* Newberry Order of the Eastern Star will have a bazaar at the lodge from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. with all proceeds going to the building funds. Public is welcome.
* Pleasantville United Methodist Church will host its annual turkey supper from 3 p.m. - ? Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 4 -11 with children 3 and under eating free.
* The Lyons American Legion Post 479 will host a hog roast fundraiser at 4 p.m. Nov. 13 with all proceeds going to the repair of the Legion roof and deck. Menu includes: pulled pork (plain, barbecue or honey), sides and desserts. Donations will be accepted and are appreciated. Public is welcome. The Lyons Legion is located on State Road 67. * To help the Shakamak Lakers kick off the 2010-2011 basketball season, the Shakamak High School cheerleaders will be sponsoring an alumni basketball tournament at 6 p.m. The "Battle of the Legends" alumni basketball tournament serves as a fundraiser for the cheerleaders and is open to former boys varsity, junior varsity, and freshman basketball players. The tournament will consist of three games with 10 minute halves. Teams will be divided after all entries are received. There is a $10 entry fee, which includes a T-shirt. Admission to the event is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children 5 and under are free. Entry forms can be downloaded from the school's web site -- www.shakamak.k12.in.us . Entries must be postmarked by Oct. 25.
* The Center Township Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a Christmas Bazaar at the department on State Road 54, east of Bloomfield. It will be from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. Contact (812) 825-2799 for more information.

* Switz City Lodge # 676 F & AM will meet for work in the MM degree with dinner at 6:15 p.m. and work at 7 p.m.
* The Linton-Stockton School Board of Trustees will meet in executive session at 6 p.m. and in regular session at 7:30 p.m. in the administration building.
* The Greene-Sullivan Special Education Cooperative will meet in executive session at 8:30 a.m. with the regular meeting to follow at 10:30 a.m. in the conference room at 77 "A" St., N.E., Linton, Indiana.

* The Lyons Senior Center will have country music and chili soup from 6 - 8 p.m. Donation only.
Wednesday, Nov. 17
* Greene County General Hospital Auxiliary will hold a jewelry sale from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the hospital lobby. Items to also include purses, wallets, rings and more and will be $5 and up.
* The October/November Worthington Park Board meeting is at 6 p.m. in the Hinchman Building at the town park. Everyone is welcome.
Thursday, Nov. 18
* The White River Valley School Board will meet in regular session at 7:30 p.m. in the administrative center. An executive session will precede the open meeting at 6:30 p.m.
* Greene County Memory Makers Quilt Guild will have a monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Bloomfield Public Library. Program by Nancy Hudson and all quilters are welcome.
* The Bloomfield Friends of the Library continuing book sale will be from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the lower lobby of the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library, 125 S. Franklin St. Look for a large selection of children's books -- mystery and romance paperbacks 10 for $1 and albums $1 a piece. The sales have been changed to the first and third Thursdays in November and December.
Saturday, Nov. 20
* Greene County Clothe-a-Child/Toys for Tots will have a benefit with free music provided by local guitarist Kade Puckett from 7 - 9 p.m. at Francisco de Borja Coffee -- located at 20 S. Main St. in Linton. Donations and 10 percent of sales benefit Greene County Clothe-a-Child/Toys for Tots.
* A chili contest will be at the Greene County Shrine Club -- with the doors opening at 4 p.m. and the contest at 6 p.m. No entry fee and the public is welcome to enter. Cash prizes awarded to first, second and third places. Freebird Karaoke at 8 p.m.
* The Lyons Senior Center will have a spaghetti dinner from 2- 6 p.m. Donation only.
* The Solsberry American Legion, Sons of the Legion and the Auxiliary will have their annual Thanksgiving dinner at the Post with a carry-in dinner at 6 p.m. All members, families and friends are invited. Also look for door prizes and a silent auction. Please bring a covered dish and table service. Meat and drinks will be provided. The Solsberry Post is located just north of State Road 54 on State Road 43.
* Tri Kappa Delta Nu Chapter will have a bake sale from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Worthington Municipal Building with baked goods, cheese balls (chipped beef or cheddar) and Uncle Al's Nuts and Candies. Event is being held in conjunction with the downtown Worthington Christmas open houses
* The Greene County Singles will hold a dance and dinner at the Greene County Extension Building at Switz City. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., dance from 7- 10 p.m. Admission is $5 with a food item, $6 with a 2 liter soda or $7 empty-handed. For more information call 825-4032.
* The Eastern Greene Middle School SAVE Chapter will host a Holiday Craft Bazaar from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the middle school cafeteria. * Jasonville Lodge 530 F&AM will conduct the EA degree on two candidates. The meal will be at 6 p.m., and work begins at 7 p.m. Visiting brethren are welcome.

* Roosevelt Mission in Linton will offer free Thanksgiving dinner from 5 - 7 p.m. Menu includes: turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, rolls, desserts and drinks. * The Linton Housing Authority will meet at 4:30 p.m. This is a reschedule of the Nov. 16 meeting. Agenda to include the 2011 annual plan for review and comment. The plan is also available for public review at the LHA main office, located at route 2, box 260 in Linton.
* The annual Extension Homemakers Fall Gathering has been renamed for the 2010 year, The Holiday Gathering. It will be from 6-8 p.m. at the Greene County Fairgrounds showroom, during the Shawnee Theater's Festival of Trees. Registration and refreshments will be from 6-7 p.m. with entertainment by "The Trio" from the Bloomfield First Christian Church, a songfest, and demonstration on recycling of Christmas cards by Joan Franklin of the Furnace Club. All Extension and perspective Homemaker members are invited to attend and enjoy a Holiday Gathering.

* The Linton parents of the class of 2011 are selling the annual Miner Discount Cards to help raise money to pay for grand march decorations and the post prom trip for the class of 2011. The cards are $5 and have a variety of discounts available at local merchants. Card discounts are good through Aug. 31, 2011. Cards may be purchased at Regions Bank, Linton Sporting Goods, Angell's Food Center, and the Linton-Stockton Superintendent's office.
