Charlotte Elise Beckler-Orr

Charlotte Elise Beckler-Orr, 63, of Sullivan, passed away at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Village of Avon in Avon, Indiana.

She was born in Sullivan, Ind. on September 15, 1947, the daughter of Kenneth Orr and Mary Virginia Leftwich Orr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, also one brother, Paul "Skip" Orr.

Charlotte was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sullivan, a retired special education teacher with Southwest School Corp. for 29 years. She was involved as a student council sponsor, cheerleader sponsor, and Peers Mentor. She received her Doctor of Education in 1997 from Nova Southeastern University. She also cherished a Golden Apple Award she received in 1991.

Survivors include: One son, Jason Dikowski (Cassey) of Fishers, Ind.; one daughter, Emilie Olson (Trent) of Sullivan; one brother, Steven Orr (Kimberly) of Olive Branch, Miss.; two sisters, Ann Yeiser of Waynesburo, Tenn. and Cathy Newport (Harold) of The Villages, Fla.; four grandchildren, Griffin and Ava Olson, and Olivia and Emma Dikowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday November 17, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sullivan with Father David Fleck officiating.

Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Banks and Brust Funeral Home.

A private burial in Center Ridge Cemetery will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sullivan High School Special Education Dept.
