Linton woman

says thank you

To the Editor:

I would like to take this time to publicly thank several outstanding individuals in our community for helping me during one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

A little over a year ago, I received a letter stating I was approved for a home improvement grant to make my home more energy efficient. I honestly feel like I went through a near "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" experience!

I owe this to the following: The late Mayor Tom Jones and the City of Linton; Jenny and Audrey at Southern Indiana Development Commission; Ken Fordyce; Richard Malloy at Hoosier Uplands; Tim, Jeff, Ed, and Ryen at Quality Refrigeration; (Papa) Don, Brock, Chadd, and Cletus at Anderson Construction; and Soncrant Seamless Guttering (sorry I didn't get your name, guys!). Through this grant, I was able to make repairs on my home that I couldn't afford otherwise.

I can't even begin to share what a joy this experience was and the patience the workers had with me in all my questions during the project. I have learned so much because of their expertise and knowledge. I honestly can't thank them enough for all they have done for me and my children. They went above and beyond in many things and for that I am forever grateful.

I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to apply for this grant if the City of Linton is awarded one again in the future. It was well worth the time and effort. I feel so much more safe in my home now and the energy efficiency is a plus with our tough economic times.

So thank you, everyone, for all you have done. I'll never forget you!
