SWITZ CITY -- Friday was senior day for the White River Valley girls tennis team as seven seniors were honored before the Owen Valley match.

The visiting Lady Patriots prevailed 3-2.

"It was a very competitive match coming down to just a few games that made the difference," WRV coach Roger Maryfield said. "But this day was not about who won or who lost and why. This day was to honor seven dedicated seniors to this program."

They included Amanda Mowery, Brooke Braswell, Megan Padgett, Taylor Blanton, Danni Higgins, Jenny Nolting and Sara Wines.

"They will be missed," Maryfield said. "I wish I had been here three years ago to enjoy this great bunch of girls.

"The girls will not get much rest as we travel to South Putnam Saturday (today)."
