Miners win two, even record
Linton-Stockton pounded out 24 hits in the past 24 hours, picking up two road wins in the process.
The Miners (7-7) defeated Northeast Dubois 12-6 Thursday night and beat Cloverdale 7-5 Friday night, getting back to .500.
"We really hit the ball well the last two games," said Linton-Stockton coach Matt Fougerousse. "We were able to put up some big innings in both games, which really made a difference."
Bryant Jackson pitched six innings and earned the victory against Dubois.
Aspen Taylor did the same against Cloverdale.
"Both Bryant and Aspen pitched well in our their first starts," said Fougerousse. "But we had too many walks, which we will have to cut back on. Dubois only had one hit, but they ended up with six runs because we gave up 11 free passes (10 walks and one hit batter).
"But Aspen Taylor came in and pitched the seventh against Dubois and Ty Scott pitched the seventh and got the save against Cloverdale."
Abe Neff hit a home run against Cloverdale. Tanner Butler had a triple and Scott doubled.
Butler hit a home run in the victory over NED. Blake Eaton and Neff both doubled.
The Miners will play a conference game at 11 a.m. Saturday (today) at Shakamak.
