Mark Angell did

a lot for pantry

To the Editor:

The Linton Community Food Pantry would like to express our sincere sympathy to the Angell family and pray that God will grant them strength and peace.

Mark Angell was one of the people who helped make this pantry the success it is today. He was more than willing to give us good buys, free delivery, and always gracious when helping with any project we ask of him, which was quite often.

Linton Church of Christ and New Covenant Full Gospel are the newest members of our contingent, thus being eight churches doing outreach for the Lord.

God has led us in the same direction and bigger things are in the future. What one church can't do alone, joining together can make it happen but only with God's help and others like Mark Angell, who supports us financially, donations and with prayer.

Our thanks to every individual club, organization, and the entire community for their support.

And now on a personal note, I wish to thank these same churches and the community for all the prayers offered in my behalf during my recent surgery and heart attack. Words can never express the love I felt knowing so many cared. But now because of health issues, I regret that I will no longer be active at the food pantry after the end of May. Hopefully some others will step forward to do some the duties there are openings for. If interested please notify your pastor or give me a call.

One of the greatest blessing God has bestowed upon me has been being a part of the first merger of two churches and watching it grow to what it is today. It hasn't been work, it has been my passion and spiritual fulfillment. It has been pure pleasure working with so many wonderful people, making new friends and a privilege to make someone's life a little easier.

I could never name everybody but everyone I've met and worked with have touched my heart in some way.

I do want to thank Chris Pruett for his courage and help in advertising our projects and especially the story about me a few months ago. As I stated then "I was right where God wanted me," truer words were never spoken. But in order to get back where I was, I guess God is saying "Take a break."

Again, I thank God for the opportunity to be a part of the very needy and successful group and I ask everyone to continue your support and especially your prayers for the Linton Community Food Pantry.

God Bless every one,

Martha Roach

Linton

Thanks for help

with Lyons pantry

To the Editor:

The congregation at Lyons First United Methodist Church would like to thank the Lyons Church of Christ, the Switz City Christian Church and the Newberry United Methodist Church for coming along side of us to launch the Lyons Community Food Pantry. You have all been a blessing to us!

The pantry has moved from the Methodist Church to the old fire station, located at 150 E Broad Street in Lyons, and is now open on the third Monday from 3-6 p.m.

Thank you to all who came and helped clean, paint and move to the new location and thank you to the town of Lyons for the use of the building. All donations of equipment, food and time have been greatly appreciated.

Jesus said in Matthew 25:35, "I was hungry and you fed me." God bless all of you!
