A pitch-in luncheon was prepared. Denny White gave the prayer. A lot of visiting, pictures were taken. Gifts given to the oldest and youngest male and female and the one who traveled farthest.

Sherry brought scrapbooks she'd made for Brad. Everyone enjoyed those also.

The landscape was very pretty and the park very clean. The younger enjoyed all the playground!

Plans for next year at a later date. Sorry many were absent.

And we're not printing who was the oldest this year!

Fourth of July

was a busy day

To the editor:

Since announcing my exploratory campaign for governor in May, I've been traveling all over Indiana getting to know the people and issues outside my hometown community of Sandborn.

It's been fun, but there are times I have to miss events I've come to cherish, such as this year's Independence Day parade in Linton.

That day I traveled to Crown Point and to Kokomo, while my sons, John Blackwood and Hunter, had a great time at the Linton parade on my behalf. Thanks to everyone who made them feel welcome, and I look forward to future Linton events!
