Anna Lucille (Lucy) Strange
Anna Lucille (Lucy) Strange, 85, passed away Oct. 12, 2011 at IU Health in Bloomington.
Born Aug. 14, 1926 in Montgomery, Ind., she was the daughter of Cecil and Clara Booker.
Lucy married Joe Strange on June 5, 1946.
She worked for many years in Bloomfield at V & S Hardware and Freeland's Apparel Shop.
She is survived by her sons, John (Brenda) Strange of Louisville, Ky., Tom (Joyce) Strange of Cory, Indiana, Doug (Kim) Strange of El Dorado, Calif., and a daughter, Sue Yake of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Kristie Strange, Holly Sanford, Erik Strange, Jessica Holtsclaw, Justin Yake, Ryan Strange, Chad Strange, and C.J. Strange; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Booker and one sister, Thelma Jane Kassler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, their beloved son David, son-in-law, Neil Yake, and great-grandson, Abe Holtsclaw.
Visitation will be at Holy Name Catholic Church in Bloomfield, Saturday, Oct. 15, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., with Father Michael Madden officiating.
Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery.
Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made in lieu of flowers to the First Baptist Church Food Pantry in Bloomfield.
