Thanks to those who helped with home tour

To the Editor:

Gamma Rho Chapter of Psi Iota Xi Sorority would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the public for supporting and attending our "Festival of Homes House Tour" this year on Nov. 19, 2011.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the tour and we had many positive comments, thanks, and hopes of another tour next year.

We certainly hope to make the house tour an annual event.

We will use the proceeds from the project to award a scholarship to a graduating Linton-Stockton High School senior in the spring of 2012.

Again our thanks to the awesome homeowners this year which include: Wes and Jerri Lynn Leigh, Jack and Joyce Hennette, Tim and Christina Riggleman, Lennon and Amy Lore, Donnie and Marylin Clayton, Brock and Ashley Anderson, Don and Sharren Anderson, and Sylver and Sally DiLorenzo.

We also would like to thank a few businesses who helped us and they include, Smith Printing, Mercury Cleaners, School Bears, and the Greene County Daily World and The Shopper.

We would also like to thank Sharon's sister-in-law, Alice Anderson, from Almagordo, New Mexico, for creating and handmaking the beautiful red and white quilt we raffled off. Connie Goodman of Linton had the winning ticket and was the proud and excited recipient of that lovely quilt that everyone wanted for their bed.

We know she will enjoy her prize for many years to come. Congratulations Connie!

What a great community to live and work in! Thank you!

Family has a good time at Angell's movie

To the Editor:

I just wanted to give a big thanks to Angell's Food for having the free movie (RIO) the day after Thanksgiving.

I took my son and mother-in-law and I thought it was a great idea for the family's in the area. We own the DVD at home but to have the chance to see Santa and a free movie was such a great idea while my wife was out there fighting off the midnight shoppers.

My son was dancing throughout the movie and really enjoyed the morning with his Dad and Mimi. He is still is talking about it!

Thanks again Angell's!
