Walter Shawver, Jr.

Walter Shawver, Jr., 84, of Bloomfield, passed away Wednesday at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

He was born on April 19, 1927 in Jay County, Ind., the son of Walter A. Shawver and Bessie E. (Harshman) Shawver.

Walt was a Jehova's Witness.

Walt is survived by his wife Emagene Shawver; one son, Jim Shawver (Lynn); three daughters, Joan George (Loren), Linda Dunwoody (Steve) and Rita Shawver-Parker (Mark). He has five grandchildren, Karyn Shawver, Amy Shawver-Morman, Seb Shawver, Jason Pruitt and Karla Pruitt. Four great grandchildren, Skyler Pruitt, Calvin Myers, Addy and Alaina Shawver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert A. Shawver; one son, David M. Shawver; and two grandchildren, Kelly Shawver and Kristy Shawver.

Funeral service will be at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.

Family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield on Saturday.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington in memory of Walter Shawver.
