Miners shoot season-low
Linton-Stockton defeated host Clay City and Owen Valley in a high school boys golf match at Clover Meadows Thursday.
The Miners had a season-low 144 to easily record two wins. Owen Valley was second with 166 and Clay City had a 172.
Ben Boyd of Linton-Stockton earned low-medalist honors with a 1-over par 35.
Cole Bradbury and Clayton French each shot 36, Koye Kaiser 37, Luke Jerrells 39 and Paul Goodman had a nine-hole total of 43.
"This was our best score so far," said Linton-Stockton coach Derek Bradbury. "The 144 is pretty good for us.
"But we had some putting issues today. We could have easily broke 140, if we had putted better. But we are hitting the ball well. Once we get our putting down, we are going to be tough to beat."
The Miners will compete in an invitational at Rea Park in Terre Haute Saturday, starting at 10:20 a.m.
