Lyons committee says thanks
To the Editor:
The Lyons Community Building has been an asset to not only the town of Lyons but to the entire area for more than a decade. The building has been utilized by many through rentals.
Community organizations such as the Scouts and Senior Citizens host events at the building. The building served as home last summer for a daily free lunch program and will again this summer. The building is very well used, as it should be, but unfortunately the rentals alone do not cover the building's expenses and maintenance.
A basket/tool bingo is the major fundraiser for the building. The 11th annual bingo was held Thursday, April 12. The volunteer Community Building Committee wishes to extend our thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers and those who attended. We appreciate your support and look forward to the Lyons Community Building being an important part of this area for years to come.
