Entrepreneurs can learn from June workshop
Entrepreneurs will have a chance to get their affairs in order with a help from the Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC).
ISBDC will be hosting a "Launching Your Own Business" workshop Tuesday, June 19 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the board room of Main Source Bank in Linton.
"It would be better for someone who is a new entrepreneur (to attend) to identify objectives and estimate operative budgets," ISBDC Program Coordinator Fran Valentine explained.
Valentine added the workshop can help determine if the entrepreneur's idea is a logical business venture.
There is a $25 fee, which will cover the cost of the "A Sound and Proven Path Towards Launching Your Own Business" workbook.
"Every successful business is built on a solid foundation. This class will help you evaluate your business idea with that end in mind," Valentine explained in a description of the course.
The workshop will help potential business owners identify the expenses they will see as they prepare to start up their businesses.
It will also address personal objectives, skills and sources of the entrepreneur, as well as have them describe business ideas and requirements.
Financial objectives will be addressed as well by developing a sales forecast and estimating an operating budget for the business.
The workshop will also help entrepreneurs analyze their feasibility results.
"Following this course, ISBDC Business Advisors located across the state, will be available for free one-on-one business consulting, which includes market research and financial diagnostic reports, to help you implement your strategic plan and provide ongoing guidance as you grow your business," Valentine said.
Pre-registration is required to attend the workshop. Register at www.isbdc.org. Under the seminars and events tab, click on "Local and State Events". The event is in the Radius Workshops section.
"They can register up to the day of the event," Valentine added.
