Cards second, WRV fourth
Host Clay City had a winning score of 168 to earn wins over visiting Bloomfield, North Central and White River Valley in a high school boys golf match Thursday at Hoosier Hills.
Bloomfield shot 177, North Central had a 178 and White River Valley carded a 202.
Ross Tally led the Cardinals with a 41. Evan Wright shot 42, Alex Bartlow 44, Bradley Seymour 53, Cole Knight 52 and Kyle Robinson had a 50.
"Kyle really made the difference for us tonight as we edged North Central for second," said BHS coach Scott Yoho. "We played a little better tonight."
WRV was led by Trent Myers, who shot a 39. Preston Reed had a 54, Cole Smith 55 and Ethan Hoffeditz carded a 54.
Both teams will compete Monday, June 4 at the Linton-Stockton Sectional at the Phil Harris Golf Course.
