Thanks for help with Mayor's Ride

To the Editor:

The Jasonville City Park Board would like to thank everyone that participated in the 4th Annual Jasonville Mayor's Ride.

The event was successful, but could not have been if not for many volunteers that donated their time preparing for and putting on the event. Thank you to all the volunteers. Your time and dedication is appreciated.

This year the number of registered participants was 68.

The park board thanks Wikker Elefant for volunteering their time and talent providing music for the event.

For those who do not know, the Jasonville Mayor's Ride is an event put on by the Jasonville Park Board and many volunteers that want to see improvements to the City Park. These improvements benefit everyone that uses the park and gives an enjoyable place to take your children and grandchildren to play and picnic.

The event is held the last Saturday of August each year. The event consists of registering for a motorcycle ride, approximately 100 miles, a meal, music, raffles, and vendor booths.

The board would like to thank Scot Huddleston, owner of Huddleston Contracting, for volunteering his time and crew to remodel the restrooms, Quality Refrigeration for volunteering their service to repair lights, Tri Kappa for supplying the paint and painting the shelterhouse, and the numerous businesses and individuals.

The board also would like to thank Jasonville Police Department, Linton Police Department, and Greene County Sheriff's Department for providing escorts and traffic blocks for the safety of the riders.

The Park Board hopes that all participants will return next year and encourages new participants to join the event.

Low impact

classes a hit

To the Editor:

I want to give a big "thank you" to the city of Linton Pool Board for allowing all of us ladies to attend the low impact swimming exercise classes this summer.

It has helped me with my knees, lower back and the best, losing weight. And I know all the other ladies agree as well.

Also, I want to thank Mary Stalcup for leading us to all the soreness and fun. Also, to the ladies who took the time to come and open the pool and sit with us after the pool closed for the season.

I hope we will be able to have another great season next year.
