Wanda Lou Murphy, 80, of Dugger, Ind. passed away at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton, Ind.

She was born in Slagle, La., August 10, 1932, the daughter of Andrew Sweat and Hazel Wiley Sweat.

Wanda was formerly employed at Stohl's Restaurant in Linton. She loved her children, and grandchildren unconditionally. To all that knew her, to every life she touched, she left a lasting mark and lasting memories. She will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Murphy in 1994; two sons, Bruce and Pete Murphy; five sisters, Jimmie Lee Vegas, Miriam Cardy, Helen Waterson, Dot Statum, and Frankie Ray; one brother, Donald Sweat; and a granddaughter, Holly Louise Murphy.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Murphy (Mary Jane), of Linton, and Kenny Murphy, of Dugger; one daughter, Theresa Thompson (Rocky) of Fullerton, La.; one step-son, Jimmy Murphy, of Bloomington; one sister, Eva Dean Statum (David), of Vidor, Tex; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger, with Pastor Harold Godsey officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until services Wednesday. Interment will follow in the Burgoon Cemetery in Bloomington.
