Linton wins at OV
Brei Followell allowed just one hit while fanning 11 as the Linton-Stockton Lady Miners rolled to a 13-1 win over host Owen Valley Monday night at Spencer.
Followell's only blemish came with two out in the bottom of the first when her counterpart, Rebecca Strong, homered.
From that point Followell allowed only a walk as the Lady Miners improved to 3-3 on the year.
"We put plenty of runs on the board and Brei had a good night pitching," Linton-Stockton coach Ruan Fougerousse said. "We got good defense behind Brei and we didn't have any errors, I'm very happy with my team."
Micaela Hazlewood countered with a homer while Followell, Josha Kenworthy and Cassidy Clothier all doubled as part of an 11-hit attack by Linton-Stockton.
Joie Gadberry, Carlie Booe (two singles) and Emma Brewer all added hits. Clothier and Kenworthy both added singles to their extra base hits.
The Lady Miners return to action Wednesday at home against Edgewood at 5 p.m.
