Vikings take out Lakers

West Vigo touched up Shakamak pitching for 16 hits as the visiting Vikings defeated the Lady Lakers 11-0 in five innings in a non-conference high school softball game Monday.

Amber Chesterfield and Kelsey Pilant each singled to account for the SHS offense.

"We definitely did not play well tonight," said Shakamak coach B.A. Shipman, who's Lady Lakers dropped to 3-6. "But we have plenty of games left to improve our pitching, defense and offense."

Shakamak will host White River Valley at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
