Yeryar no-hits T-Birds

Monday, April 15, 2013

Brett Yeryar was nearly flawless allowing no hits and walking just one North Central hitter as the Shakamak Lakers defeated the Thunderbirds 10-0 in a game halted after five innings due to the mercy rule.

Yeryar's no-hitter was highlighted by an offensive show from Yeryar himself as well as Christian Burris who got the ball rollling offensively with a grand slam homer in the first and Patrick Green who drilled a three-run dinger.

"It was a pretty good game," SHS (8-1, 2-0) coach Chip Sweet said. "Brett pitched pretty well and we had a couple of guys carry us offensively.

"It was a good conference win for us."

Collins and Brodie Crowe both drove home two runs apiece for the Lakers who return to action Tuesday when they visit Terre Haute South at 6 p.m.
