Lady Wolverines lose

Monday, April 15, 2013

Clay City defeated host White River Valley 2-0 in a Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference high school softball game Monday.

"The girls played extremely well tonight," said WRV coach Matt Hockman. "That is something we lacked in a few games.

"A 2-0 loss to Clay City isn't nothing to hang heads on. They're an extremely good team. They had a few good catches that could have changed game. We are seeing the ball better every game. Our pitching was good and defense much better. These ladies are starting to believe they can do it."

Jordan McHenry was the tough-luck losing pitcher. She allowed four hits and no earned runs. She fanned two and walked none.

McHenry had a single and double while Madison Hockman and Miranda Pierce each had a base hit.

The Lady Wolverines will play at Shakamak Tuesday.
