Soncrant family

appreciates support

To the Editor:

The family of Toby Soncrant wants to thank the community of Jasonville, the Jasonville Police Department, Shakamak School, Friends of MSD School, Shakamak Community Church and the many family and friends who displayed their love and sympathy following Toby's untimely passing.

We are so thankful and comforted by all the food, flowers, gifts, money, phone calls, texts, cards, Facebook messages, and the many donations made in Toby's name to the Shakamak Athletic Department.

We want to thank all of you who came to the visitation and funeral. We were so touched by the outpouring of people and the words of comfort. A special thank you to the Shakamak Lakers baseball and softball teams for taking the time to pay their respects before their gams on Friday and Saturday.

Thank you Shakamak Community Church for the outstanding meal you provided (with help from Shakamak School) for family and friends after the funeral services.

Thank you Rev. Sam Bush for doing an excellent job officiating. Thank you to the Cox Funeral Home for taking care of all the large and small details for us.

And, to our dearest friends and family, what can we say -- a mere thank you doesn't seem like enough! We were and still are overwhelmed, comforted, and blessed by the outpouring of love and support you have given us. It's just more confirmation to us what a great man, Toby, was and how much he was loved. We couldn't ask for more than that.

We love you all and thank you from the bottom of our hearts! I know he is looking down on all of us and beaming with pride just as he should!

And, lastly, we want to give a very special thank you to Channel 10 News for the outstanding special tribute you aired during your sports segment honoring the Shakamak Lakers, "Biggest Fan!" We were beyond touched by the tribute and the kind words that were spoken by Coach Chip Sweet, Coach Steve Brett and Ross Rowling. We will forever cherish that! It was amazing!

From Jamie, Julie, Bettie, Mike, Mollie, Jessie, Emilie, Bill, Sandy, Roger, Rob, Sis, Annie and all our families.

They are Bloomfield Bank, Bloomfield Hardware, Cinco de Mayo, Dairy Queen, Dancing Bear, Deb's Happy Tails, Dollar General, Farmer's and Mechanics Federal S&L, Floyd's Flowers, Geneva's Pizza, Hot Spot Tanning, Janna Easton/Thirty-One, Judy Wise/Longaberger, Main Source Bank, Main Street Sports, Pam Poe/Thirty-One, QT's Custom Active Wear, Sammy Sparks/Yer Studio, WalMart, and Wyatt LeGrand.

The money raised will be used to grow our band program for the benefit of Bloomfield students. Thank you to the family and friends of the band for your encouragement and support of our musicians.
