Wrights celebrate 70th

Joe and Martha Wright of Bloomfield are celebrating 70 years of marriage on March 4. They were married in 1944 in Lawton, Oklahoma while Joe was an officer in the U.S. Army at Fort Sil. They met in Omaha, Nebraska on November 23, 1943, which was also Martha's birthday. Martha had moved there from Parkston, South Dakota where she was raised, and Joe grew up in the Ridgeport community near Bloomfield. Their meeting was a chance encounter which has led to 70 wonderful years of enjoying life together. They moved from Omaha to the communtiy of Park in May 1950 and have lived there while rasising three children. Sandra Blackwell of Bloomington, Barbara Tucker of Plano,TX and Joseph Jr. of McHenry, IL. They also have 2 sons in laws, Jerry Blackwell and Brian Tucker. They have 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Joe has been retired from CAAA Crane for 28 years after 36 years of goverment service. Martha has been a homemaker. They are members of Holy Name Catholic Church of Bloomfield.
