Letter to the Editor:

Thanks to the many citizens that supported our historic campaign (a swing of 47 votes would have changed the outcome)! I'm also thankful to Mayor Wilkes for running a respectful campaign, and congratulate him on his re-election. The issues I raised during the past several months (infrastructure -- sewage, storm drains, fire hydrants, streets, electrical and water systems) are real, and threaten the future of Linton if not properly addressed. Obviously, the voters have spoken loudly for the need to improve efforts to address these issues. I urge my fellow citizens to put "public" back in "public service" - in a respectful and civil way - by insisting on transparency and strategic planning! Exercise your right to attend City Council Meetings and share your ideas and concerns. I lost the election, but I haven't lost my pride of and confidence in my fellow Lintonians!
