Voter machine testing will take place Thursday

Voter Registration Clerk Marjorie Cullison said public testing of the voting equipment which will be utilized in the November 8, 2016 general election will be conducted on Thursday at 9 a.m.

The testing will take place in the voter registration office located on the second floor of the courthouse and is open to the public.

The Greene County Election Board will convene a public meeting at 9 a.m. Friday to discuss laws pertaining to electronic poll books used for absentee voting. They will also address any other matters presented at that time. The meeting will take place in the voter registration office located on the second floor of the court house. Early voting will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in the voter registration office. A voter must be registered by Oct. 11 and present a government issued photo I.D. When they appear to vote. Regular business hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended hours on Saturday, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Additional hours will be offered on Friday, Nov. 4. Those hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters will be allowed to cast their early vote up until noon on Monday, Nov. 7.
