Fire Safety Fair to be hosted Saturday

Thursday, October 6, 2016

There will be a safety fair at Hanna Field in Jasonville on Saturday.

This event starts at 4 p.m. and ends at dusk with a light parade through town of emergency vehicles. This event is totally free. There will have beans and cornbread and hot dogs, cookies and chips.

There will be musical entertainment by Geoffrey Gentry. There will be a bounce house, the fire escape/ tornado demonstration house, and a combat challenge for the kids.

This is a great family night. Fire trucks will be on display as well. This event is hosted by Wright Township, Jasonville and Lewis Fire departments and is held each year in recognition of Fire Prevention Week. Each year the three fire departments jointly go to Shakamak Elementary School and spend one whole day doing fire safety and fire prevention education to grades K-6. Volunteers then finish off the week with the Safety Fair.
