Springville woman arrested on domestic battery charges
A Springville woman was arrested on a warrant for domestic battery.
According to a probable cause filed by Greene County Sheriff Department Deputy Blake McCamey, a victim came to the GCSD in reference to an alleged battery by Amy Myers, 39.
“(The victim) stated he and Myers were involved in a verbal argument,” McCamey wrote.
The victim stated Myers then grabbed a hold of his chest, pushing him across the room and grabbing him by the throat. Photographs were documented of the victim’s injuries, showing scratches on the left and right side of the neck and scratches on the front upper part of the chest.
“(The victim) stated he went down stares to go to church. (He) went upstairs to get the keys and Myers grabbed him again,” McCamey wrote.
Myers reportedly grabbed the victim by the left bicep and shirt. Injuries were photographed, showing scratches and bruises.
During this altercation, a child in the house reportedly witnessed it happening.
“(The victim) stated he was repeatedly telling Myers to let him go, but she refused,” McCamey wrote.
The victim then stated the child reportedly got upset and punched Myers in an attempt to get her off of the victim.
“(The victim) stated Myers let him go and stated that ‘you better find another place to live because if not, I’m going to call the cops and say stuff, so you better watch out,’” McCamey wrote.
The victim said he was fearful Myers would attempt to fabricate a police report stating he had done something to her.
The victim also produced an audio recording from his phone. The report states the recording corroborated the victim’s story.
Myers was contacted for an interview at the Greene County Sheriff’s Office for an interview.
“Myers stated she had pushed (him) out of the bathroom and told him to go,” McCamey wrote. “Myers stated she never grabbed (him) by the neck and she was not sure how he got the marks on his neck.”
Myers reportedly said she never stated to the victim she was going to contact the police.
The child was interviewed as well and stated they saw Myers have a hold of the victim’s arm.
Myers was held on a $4,000 bond and had an initial hearing set for Nov. 10 on charges of Level 6 Felony domestic battery in the presence of a child.
