Overman brings home second, makes All-Tourney Team

Alex Overman receives several awards at Florida tourney.

WRV 6th grader Alex Overman came home from Florida after playing in the USA All- American games fueled by Gatorade with a great experience, a lot of memories, and several awards.

Overman's team, made up of girls from 6 different states, came in runners-up in the tournament. Overman also placed second in the "golden Arm" skill contest for throwing accuracy and speed. The WRV student was named to the 12u All-American all tourney team as well. Finally, each athlete received their All-American ring.

Girls from over 30 states were invited to participate in the tournament that was held over Thanksgiving weekend in Venice, Florida.

Overman's mother commented, "This was a great experience for Alex. She met a lot of girls from all over the country and made a lot of memories. The awards are just a bonus. We are very proud of her." Overman plays travel ball for the Indiana Terror out of Terre Haute and plans to play middle school softball at WRV this year.
